Instagram has announced it will be launching a series of tools aimed at helping businesses using the platform. The series of tools being introduced include Instagram business profiles, insights, and the ability to promote ads.
Switching your Instagram profile over to a business profile is free of charge, and will enable you to add a contact CTA: viewers can get directions and call, text or email with a tap of the contact button.
Similar to Facebook Insights, the analytics will show business owners who their Instagram followers are, and which posts resonate best.
The Promote function allows business owners to pick an existing post that’s performed well, and promote it to a target audience of your or Instagram’s selecting.
Each of the new tools equip businesses with the ability to get more out of Instagram. Making your business as easy as possible to find and contact, with a Business profile, is a no-brainer. Using Insights to know what content you should create more of, when to share it, as well as who you’re sharing it with is also invaluable to business owners. And finally, being able to promote an existing post within the mobile app makes advertising on Instagram even easier than it currently is (via Facebook Ads Manager).
Unfortunately those of us in the UK will have to wait a little while longer for the business tools. Instagram says:
“Business profiles, insights and the ability to promote will be rolling out in the US, Australia and New Zealand in the coming months, and will be available in all regions globally by the end of the year.”
We will keep you posted!
